Harvest more oxygen than your rivals at Planta Nubo

In Planta Nubo you will grow energy rich flowers in the cloud gardens of the crowns of giant trees. You'll use bee airships and the cargo containers they carry to deliver flowers to biomass converters, so they can transform them into green energy and plant new forests on the remaining fertile land. With the green energy obtained, you will be able to activate modules in your workshop and generate the precious oxygen that is needed in the atmosphere. Use your actions efficiently and use your gardening bot to help you with the work in the flower fields. Turn your play area into a thriving oxygen production facility to win the game!

Designed by a trio of legendary authors, Michael Keller, Uwe Rosenberg and Andreas Odendahl (authors of La Granja), and illustrated by Lukas Siegmon, Planta Nubo can be enjoyed alone or in groups of up to 4 players, ages 12 and up, in sessions of about 30 minutes per player. Through action drafting and polyomino placement mechanics, players will compete to gain the most oxygen at the end of the game.

Planta Nubo is set in the solarpunk genre, a movement that presents a positive vision of our future, promoting regenerative energies, social participation, democratic commitment and environmental responsibility. In fact, Planta Nubo is part of a larger universe called Fronda, which serves as the narrative framework for the game.

The components

Just as if it were a tree with countless leaves, the Planta Nubo box has countless components inside: a central board, two personal boards per player, more than 100 tiles, 150 wooden cubes, 90 cards and more than 150 tokens.

The center board shows a treetop with four spaces for crafting, Module and Oxyfarm cards, and container spaces. A large Telescope that moves between the cards will mark the change of rounds, and players keep track of their oxygen points through the scoring track that surrounds the board.

Each player has two personal boards: the Platform and the Tool Shack. The first, produced in double layer, will be the space where players will grow the plants, placing the flower bed and forest tiles. It is also the space where cards with different bonuses, effects and actions are accumulated, and where the energy die will move. On the other hand, in the shed there is space to store flowers and space for the gardening bot, with its charging dial.

The 150 wooden cubes come in 6 different colors, as they represent 6 different flower species. These cubes will be placed on the flower bed tiles, which are shaped like 3, 4, and 5-space polyominoes, once players farm them on their platform boards.

The game

A Planta Nubo game takes place over four rounds, and one round is divided into four phases: Tools, Crafting, Forest, and Income. In the first two phases players will use their four tools to select actions. These actions will allow you to grow and obtain flowers, distribute the flowers to containers to gain green energy, obtain fertile land, remove obstacles from the Platform or activate the different cards in your play area. However, not all actions will always be available to all players, as an opponent may move forward and activate it first. Whether or not it can be used again will depend on the type of tool placed between the action tiles.

In the Forest phase, players will be able to convert fertile space on their platforms (that is, space where they have previously grown flowers and that is empty) to plant or grow forests. These forests will provide many oxygen points to their owners. Finally, in the income phase, players collect energy and oxygen based on the energy die value and their Arbor level.

Planta Nubo can also be enjoyed alone. In this case, the player faces the Autobot, which comes in four different difficulty levels. To prepare the game, players use the back of the Platform boards. To determine the Autobot's behavior, solobot tiles are used, which will mark the tools the bot uses and the priority of its actions.
